BJP’s Munugode by-poll campaign in shambles

There is a saying – success has many fathers but failure is an orphan. Looks like the BJP is following the same. When the party smelt the blood in Dubbak and Huzurabad by-elections, the party’s top brass camped in the segments and toured extensively.

Now, coming to the Munugode by-poll, it seems that the party has given up even before trying and the party’s nominee Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy looks deserted. The party which is organisationally weak in the district is expected to have all its top leaders present in the constituency in a tightly fought election.

But, leave central leaders, even senior leaders of the state unit are staying away from the campaign. Showing his leg ailment as the reason, union minister Kishan Reddy is not participating in the election campaign. And the state party president Bandi Sanjay is nowhere to be seen in the picture.

Reportedly, even the rank and file of the party is disappointed with new entrant Rajagopal Reddy’s supporters. And, Reddy’s campaign is now in shambles with many noted leaders distancing themselves.

It has to be seen if they are already certain of the outcome and want to shift the blame entirely on the candidate or whether they have other plans.
