Lashing out at both Congress and BJP leaders who are criticizing the Kaleswaram project, the minister said actually the state government spent Rs 95,000 crore on the project. But the Opposition leaders are stating that there was two lakh crore corruption in the project. It is shameful on their part.
When the then Congress leaders constructed irrigation projects to favour the Andhra region, the local Congress leaders maintained silence but when a project is constructed to benefit Telangana, they are unable to stomach it.
The BJP and Congress leaders are accusing the ruling TRS of pocketing money for the project and are out with their own imagination. They do not know the basic facts of the projects and expenditures incurred on Kaleswaram project. They are so jealous that they will never appreciate the efforts of chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao for his vision and work.
The project will prove itself as a lifeline to Telangana in the days to come. It will help fill all the reservoirs and make water available even in drought.
The officials from central government lauded the project and the whole world acknowledged its greatness but the local BJP and Congress leaders are spewing venom.
The ruling TRS party is gaining more popularity over the years with its welfare and development programmes. It will come to power once again and that truth is giving sleepless nights to the Congress and BJP leaders.
Just by criticising the government and accusing the leaders of being corrupt, both the parties are trying to come to power in Telangana state, but it is impossible, Mr Niranjan Reddy said.
