Thousands of Telugu women congregated at Kamgar Stadium in Mumbai bringing the splendour and fervour of Bathukamma festivities to the financial capital, participating in the celebration organised by Telangana Jagruthi (TJ) on Sunday.
“Bathukamma is not just a celebration but a means to achieve women’s empowerment. Telangana women not just from Mumbai but all over Maharashtra are participating in the Bathukamma celebrations here. Wherever they may be, Telangana Jagruthi will make efforts to address the problems of Telangana people,” said MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha, while addressing the gathering. A rally was also taken out from Vithal Mandir to Kamgar Stadium. Women carrying beautiful Bathukammas rallied through the streets.
