Woman and child development minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that ‘Bangaru Talli’ programme, which was introduced by the previous Congress government, would be continued.
Replying to a debate on demands in the state Assembly on Wednesday, Nageswara Rao said that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was looking into the issue. Bangaru Talli, which gives money to girl child for education and marriage at regular intervals was introduced by N Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
When several Congress members raised doubts over continuation of the scheme, Nageswara Rao said that Bangaru Talli would be continued and a decision would be announced on this soon.
