Hyderabad MP and MIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi sprang a surprise by meeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo KCR. Asaduddin’s MIM party has been non-committal on Telangana for a long time.
Today’s meeting assumes significance as this was the first time that a top MIM leader met KCR. Speculation was rife in media circles as to what transpired between the two.
According to reliable sources, Asaduddin sought KCR’s help in implementation of Sachar Committee report. Apparently, the Telangana issue came up during the meeting and both the leaders discussed this at length.
KCR had requested Asaduddin to support the ongoing Telangana statehood struggle. And our sources indicate that Asaduddin has assured KCR that MIM would not oppose the formation of Telangana.
