The Parakala constituency witnessed a massive voter turnout during yesterdays bypolls. The total polling is around 84%, which is one of the highest in the current round of elections in the state.
Barring sporadic incidents, the polling was mostly peaceful. Police has to use mild force to disperse irate crowds in Urugonda, Puligilla, and Pulukurthy villages. In Urugonda, a police jeep was damaged by an irate mob.
Exit polls give a clear edge to TRS party. A survey apparently done by maverick Andhra MP Lagadapati Rajgopal predicted TRS win in Parakala. Even the exit poll conducted by two news channels also confirmed that TRS is all set to clinch this seat from YSRCP.
Konda Surekha, the sitting MLA, who had resigned in support of YS Jagan is expected to come a close second, while BJP will come third. Both Congress and TDP are set to repeat their feat of losing their deposits once again.
