203 students from Telangana Gurukuls secure top ranks in NEET

Yet another testimony to the standards of the quality education imparted in Telangana Gurukul educational institutions. 203 students from Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) secured top ranks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, popularly knows as the NEET.

“Our projected medical course admission numbers for the MBBS course is 203 and many more will be getting into BDS and other courses,” TSWREIS’ official Twitter handle posted. In the past too, many students from social welfare institutions secured top ranks and entered premier institutes like IITs, NITs, AIIMS, etc.

After the state formation, the Telangana government has increased the number of residential institutions making Telangana the state with the highest number of Gurukul Vidyalayas. The state now has around 930 social welfare educational institutions including schools, junior colleges and degree colleges. Around 6 lakh students from marginalised communities are receiving quality education at free-of-cost in these institutions. The KCR government is spending Rs. 1.25 lakh per annum on each student.
