Telangana govt to set up 70 new industrial parks in the state

With a view to ensuring balanced development, creating more local employment and manufacturing quality products for exports, the Telangana government has decided to set up 70 new industrial parks in districts. The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has prepared plans for the purpose. It has instructed the district collectors to begin land acquisition for the purpose.

It was the resolve of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to promote industries in a big way in Telangana state. IT and Industries minister KT Rama Rao has been showcasing the state at various national and international fora. He has been highlighting the industry-friendly TSiPASS policy. This is expected to give a big push for industrial development aided by the proposed new industrial parks. As many as 19 industrial parks are being planned in Ranga Reddy district; seven in Medak district; six each in Sanga Reddy and Siddipet, five in Vikarabad; four in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri; three in Mahabubnagar; one each in Jagitial, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Nirmal and Warangal district.

The TSIIC decided to develop 1,43,000 acres of government land. During 2014-2023, the corporation developed 56 industrial estates with all infrastructure. Of them, there are 23 in Hyderabad and surrounding areas and 33 in rural areas. In the integrated Andhra Pradesh, as many as 109 industrial estates were developed in 40 years. In separate Telangana state, a total of 56 industrial parks were set up.

With the new slogan – Integrated, Inclusive and Balanced development, the state government is embarking on industrial development in the state. It is expected to create more employment for the rural youth besides increasing exports. There were some MSMEs already operating in the districts.
In Medak district, the ITC company has started its operations and there were 18 ancillary units. In the Sircilla apparel park, companies are producing export-oriented products while at the Kakatiya Mega Textile park in Warangal, the companies Kitex and Youngone are dedicated to producing export-oriented garments.
