Officially stating the Congress government’s stand on the handing over of Krishna basin projects to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy passed a resolution in the Telangana Legislative Assembly today.
Moving the resolution, the Minister said that if the conditions put forth by the Telangana government are accepted, then the Krishna projects will be handed over to the central government’s KRMB. “This house hereby resolves that the government of Telangana shall not handover control of common projects to KRMB unless the conditions put forth by state have been fulfilled,” said Uttam Kumar Reddy.
However, a few days ago, following the KRMB meeting, the Engineers-in-Chief of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have already confirmed that the projects have been transferred, and the necessary procedures are underway.
