Then red-tapism, now red carpet for investors: Minister KTR

The successive governments discouraged prospective investors by favouring red-tapism and hampered the progress of the state. But now in Telangana state, things are totally different. Permissions for new industries are given within 15 days. It not only brought prosperity to the state but also provided employment opportunities to the locals, said IT minister KT Rama Rao. Mr Rama Rao undertook a whirlwind tour to the erstwhile united Mahabubnagar district. Later addressing a massive public meeting at Devarakadra, he listed out the achievements of the BRS government.

The minister came down heavily on the Congress leaders and their election promises such as pledging to scrap the Dharani portal among others. “The Congress leaders are demanding many things now in Telangana. But they did nothing when in power here. Even today, where they are in power in four or five states, there are no welfare schemes that match the Telangana government’s schemes,” Mr Rama Rao pointed out.

The minister sought to know from the crowds was it not true that Rs. 2,000 pension is given in the state, was it not true that every household gets safe drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha, the first state in the country to do so, was it not true that irrigation and free power, Rythu Beema, Rythu Bandhu – the unique schemes that are only implemented in Telangana state and nowhere else. Mr Rama Rao told people that they gave a 45,000 vote majority to BRS candidate last time and this time they should give 90,000 votes majority teaching a fitting lesson to the Congress leaders.
