As part of the ongoing decennial celebrations of state formation, each day is dedicated to one sector and its achievements are being celebrated.
The ‘Cheruvula Panduga’ – celebrating the revival and restoration of the village tank was held across the state. Young and old participated with great enthusiasm. Women carried Bonalu and Bathukamma – the festivals were celebrated with great fervour and all people gathered on the bund of the tanks in their respective villages.

The unique feature of the festival was that it brought together the people of the whole village. Cutting across the caste and political differences, they all gathered at the local tanks and enjoyed the event. They danced and sang together and they ate together there at the tanks. The local elected representatives added authenticity to the event.

At Siddipet, Finance Minister T Harish Rao took part in the event where he said now the villages in Telangana state resemble more beautiful than those in Konaseema with greenery all around and water bodies brimming with water. There was a smile on everybody’s face as there is abundant water. Once even the cattle suffered due to a shortage of drinking water. Now the situation is totally different, thanks to the visionary chief minister Mr KCR, he said.
