Telangana Polls: Social media agencies make a killing

Social media which is most popular in the present day has come in handy for politicians, especially during election time. It keeps the news updated every second thus keeping people abreast of every development in the society. Many political leaders are now engaging these social media agencies to reach out to the voters in their respective constituencies.

Going by the adage, make hay while the sun shines, these social media agencies are collecting huge sums. They charge for the amount of work and also go by the paying capacity of the candidates. They collect food allowance, transport etc. They are said to be charging Rs. 5 to 10 lakh per month from each candidate.

Social media agencies attach a team of youth to each candidate to cover his campaign and popularise them on social media platforms with photographs and speeches. Some agencies also charge Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 lakh per month claiming a greater reach for their work. Even the political parties are also taking into consideration how many followers a candidate has. This indicates the power of social media.
