Telangana is a role model for communal harmony: MLC K Kavitha

BRS senior leader and MLC K Kavitha has said the Telangana state is a role model for other states in the country in many aspects. It is a role model in communal harmony. Delivering a lecture at Oxford University in the UK on Tuesday, she said a humane government is in place in Telangana which was most backward in terms of development and living standards of people achieved good development.

Speaking on the “Telangana model” she said in 2014 prior to the formation of Telangana state, of the 10 districts, nine districts were declared as the most backward. There were farmers’ suicides, no irrigation, and no power supply to the farming sector. Now things have changed for the better under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Soon after the formation of a separate Telangana state and BRS assuming power, all the issues were sorted out one after the other. From 2014 to till date, the Telangana state could attract an investment of Rs. 3.31 lakh crores and about 22,100 industries were set up. It could create 22,36,000 jobs. The software exports that were just Rs. 57,000 crore rose to Rs. 1.83 lakh crore now under the BRS party regime.

The Telangana adopted a multi-pronged strategy. It could strike a balance between development and welfare. It involved the people in all its initiatives to transform the villages massively. Now Telangana tops in per capita income and per capita consumption of power in the country, she said.
