The BRS Party workers have carried out protests and rallies across Telangana condemning the arrest of BRS MLC K Kavitha. Yesterday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested the MLC on charges of money laundering under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
In response to a call by former minister and senior leader Harish Rao, BRS cadre took to the streets today to protest against the central BJP government. The party accused the BJP of resorting to vendetta politics by implicating their political opponents in false cases.
Alleging that the ED has become a puppet in the hands of the BJP, BRS leaders say that Kavitha’s arrest while the issue is subjudice is undemocratic. Other than the BRS, the Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiv Sena UBT, and Samajwadi Party have condemned Kavitha’s arrest.
