People in the Nizamabad district and BRS leaders are thrilled like kids when they witnessed the rapid flow of Kaleshwaram project waters reaching the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP). Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, R&B minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Endowments minister P Indrakan Reddy, MP K R Suresh Reddy and a host of others joined the lay people who thronged the project that filled the project and their hearts as well. The elected representatives offered flowers and prayers to Goddess Ganga.
The water being lifted from the Kaleshwaram project traversed 300 kilometres before reaching the SRSP. For now, 0.25 TMC of water is being released into SRSP and after assessing the situation, more water would be released and motors at Mupkal pump house will be operated round the clock that are now running during the day time. It was the dream of visionary CM KCR to see every project, reservoir and water bodies full of water all through the years. It was his re-engineering efforts that paid off today.
Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said but for the commitment and determination of CM KCR, water would not have reached SRSP from Kaleshwaram today. CM also conceived and executed the much-needed SRSP rejuvenation project. The SRSP had accumulated silt and water-holding capacity had been reduced. It was rendered obsolete. It was CM KCR who rejuvenated the project with a lot of effort, the Speaker said.
