National Integration Day to be observed on Sep17: Minister KTR

Minister and BRS party working president KT Rama Rao has appealed to the party workers to observe September 17 as National Integration Day in a big way. He said it was the day when the Hyderabad state merged into the Indian Union ending the monarchy and beginning a democratic rule in the region.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would participate in the celebrations and hoist the national flag. Similarly, the party’s important functionaries should organise similar events and hoist national flags in their respective places across the state. Mr KT Rama Rao said during the last decade the BRS party was able to steer the state into a golden era balancing both development and welfare. It was an occasion to call the achievements of the state under the stewardship of Mr KCR.

KTR cautioned the people against falling prey to certain political parties that were trying to twist the occasion. They were out to gain political mileage creating hatred among people. Those who have nothing to do with the past history or the turn of events that took place on September 17, 1948, are out dishing out their own distorted version of the history. They were trying to pollute the politically awakened people of Telangana. Every citizen should guard against such selfish forces and teach them a fitting lesson.
