Like Telugu cinema, we are going pan-India too: KTR

Pan-India is the buzzword these days. Breaking down the barriers, Telugu cinema is showing its country-wide dominance with quality content and going global too. Tollywood movies’ success at the national and international levels is proving that the sky is the only limit.

Taking a cue from Tollywood’s pan-India growth, minister KT Rama Rao made a rather witty remark that when a content-rich Telugu cinema goes pan-India, why can’t a content-rich Telugu leader go national?

KTR said that there will be naysayers, but when you have competence, ultimately the result will be hit, whether it is a movie or a leader. “In the last eight years, KCR has made some impossible things possible. We can do the same country-wide too, we have to just win people’s trust,” he added.

After launching a book on story writing written by director K Dasaradh, KTR said that Telugu cinema is ruling the roost and this is the season of Telugu cinema. He assured that the government will work towards making Hyderabad the hub for Indian and South-Asian cinema and also look after the possibilities of hosting an international film festival in the city.

The event was attended by Telugu movie directors VV Vinayak, Harish Shankar and Nag Ashwin. The book was launched in association with the Telangana government’s Department of Language and Culture.
