BRS founder and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao exuded confidence that with the victory in Maharashtra and Telangana state parliamentary elections, his party would play a key role in national politics in 2024. He said a time would come when the BRS would emerge as a formidable force in the country. Mr KCR was addressing the scores of party workers at a meeting where 55 sarpanches from different political parties from Maharashtra’s Solapur region joined BRS in Hyderabad.
Elated at the growing public patronage of the party, Mr KCR reiterated that his party is poised to emerge as a strong force and will implement all the farmer-friendly policies. “The BRS which came up with ‘Ab ki bar Kisan sarkar’ will implement all the policies in toto that are being implemented in Telangana state now. “If we win 48 parliament seats in Maharashtra and 17 in Telangana, we can dictate terms in national politics and influence the present regime,” MR KCR said. One IAS officer in the Aurangabad division has recommended to the centre that to prevent farmers’ suicides in Maharashtra, the state government to replicate policies of Telangana state’s Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, free power and irrigation. When he was reprimanded by the deputy chief minister for praising the Telangana government, he sulked and tendered his resignation. The incident exposes the true colours of the present regime in the state.
Mr KCR said there were five to six political parties in Maharashtra and every party was given a mandate by the people. But they disappointed the people. They never cared for people and their welfare. Now they are looking for a new party and leader who can help realise their dreams. The BRS party is bent on bringing about a change in the lives of people. Change is its mantra. “If something good is possible in Telangana state, why it is not possible in Maharashtra?” he posed.
KCR wanted the leaders of all political parties to see for themselves how the once barren Telangana has transformed in the last nine years. “At a time when the groundwater is depleting in the country, it is springing up in Telangana? How come it happens here?” Mr KCR said. On every indicator of growth and performance, the young Telangana state has made its mark and it desires to see that it happens all over the country, he added.
