Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the officials to accord honorariums to all the pending applicants of Imams and Moazzams in the state. At present, there are 10,000 Imams and Moazams working in mosques who are getting a monthly honorarium of Rs. 5,000 each. With the new applications cleared, the total number goes to 17,000.
The BRS government has introduced the programme, and as promised, the CM has agreed to extend the scheme to all the new applicants as well.
