Farmers prospered under the BRS regime: Minister Harish Rao

Finance Minister Mr T Harish Rao has said the initiatives taken by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao brought about a revolutionary change in the lives of people, particularly the farmers. The farmers benefitted much under the BRS regime with free power, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Beema among others.
Mr Harish Rao was addressing the gathering after hoisting the national flag commemorating the 10 formation day at Siddipet. He observed that farmers in Siddipet earned Rs 1,526 crore while the same was just Rs 104 crore in 2013.

Similarly, the farmers harvested the paddy to the tune of 79,000 tonnes in 2013 while the same in 2022 is a whopping 7.54 lakh tonnes. This was all made possible with the farmer-friendly measures taken up by the chief minister Mr KCR in Telangana. Telangana is the only state that provided safe drinking water to every household and the Siddipet had 4,400 tap connections in 2014. Now Siddipet has 2.18 lakh tap connections. In Siddipet, 10,122 double bed room houses were distributed across the district and 5,800 more are under construction, he added.

Mr Harish Rao said the figure speak for themselves and people are able to see the visible development. Not a single family was left out uncovered with some or other welfare programme of the state government. The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) proved a boon to the people as it catered for both the irrigation and drinking water needs of the people, he pointed out.
