Dissent in the Congress party continues to rage. Even though the filing of nominations is going on, the party is still stuck with fights over the allotment of tickets. In Adilabad Tudum Debba district president Godom Ganesh has warned that if the Boath constituency Congress candidate Vannela Ashok is replaced with others, they will organise an agitation programme across the combined district. The activists burnt Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy’s effigy accusing him of selling tickets.
Ganesh said that they will not tolerate insult to the adivasis, whose a population is over 6 lakh across the joint district. Congress is cheating innocent adivasis and denigrating them for long. Tribals are being used politically as vote bank and looting property and wealth, he said. In 1981, during Congress rule the tribals in Indravelli were shot with bullets and destroyed their existence. If the Congress party does not make an announcement regarding the tickets, we will block the Congress party candidates in the combined Adilabad district.
Except Khanapur, Tudum Debba will campaign against the Congress party. “On behalf of Tudum Debba Adilabad District Committee and Adivasi Rights Struggle Samithi we demand Boath Assembly ticket to the adivasis,” he said.
