Congress party misleading Hyderabad citizens

The official ‘X’ account of the ruling Congress party is blatantly misleading the citizens of Hyderabad. The party has allegedly spread fake news regarding the closure of commercial establishments in the city.

A few days ago, the Congress party’s ‘X’ account posted a set of ‘warnings’ directed at the people of Hyderabad, which included the closure of shops at 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM. According to the Congress party’s official handle, the purported warnings are instructions given by CM Revanth Reddy to the police department.

However, the warnings have received significant backlash on social media platforms. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi took strong exception to closing commercial establishments at 10:30 PM. “Whether they are Irani chai hotels, pan shops, or other commercial establishments, they should be allowed to remain open until at least 12:00 AM. Big metros across the country allow shops to stay open at night. There’s already an economic downturn. Why is it different in Hyderabad?” asked Owaisi.

After the public outrage, the Hyderabad City Police posted a clarification saying that the news is misleading. “The recent social media news making rounds that city police are closing shops by 10:30 or 11:00 PM is totally misleading. The shops and establishments will open/close as per the already existing rules only,” said Hyderabad Police on ‘X’.

Surprisingly, hours after the clarification, I&PR Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy posted the same instructions on his personal handle, stating that shops should be closed by 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM. Furthermore, South West Zone police are canvassing the same instructions using loudspeakers mounted on auto rickshaws.

The people are now wondering whom to believe and are questioning these bizarre turn of events. Many are criticizing the Revanth government for making a mockery of the system.
