CM’s Breakfast Scheme to boost health of students in govt. schools

Realising that the students are the future of the society, CM KCR is constantly working to strengthen government schools in the State. As part of this, with ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme, the process of changing the face of the government schools on par with corporate schools has been started. Besides, distributing textbooks as well as note books to the students of government schools has been started from this academic year itself.

Now the government has taken a step further and started a breakfast programme to provide nutritious food to the underprivileged students studying in government schools with the intention of making them concentrate on their studies. Parents and educationists are of the opinion that it is a great initiative that CM KCR has started Chief Minister’s Alpaharam Pathakam (Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme) along with mid-day meal which has been thought of from a humanitarian perspective for the poor students.

It is reported that the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme will be launched from October 24.The authorities are working on what food items to be included in the breakfast menu. Food items like Rava, Upma, Pongal, Kesari, Kichidi are being considered. Ragi java (Ragi porridge) and boiled eggs, which are being served now, will be served as usual. While the students studying in government schools are already provided nutritious food, the students will have the opportunity to grow physically and mentally with the breakfast provided now, officials said.
