CM KCR seeks public opinion on Dharani portal and rebutted Opposition’s criticism

When Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asked people if they wanted the Dharani to be continued, they all answered in positive in unison. They want the facility to continue as they found it more useful and made their land transactions easy and transparent. Mr KCR was addressing a massive public meeting at Mancherial on Friday evening after launching a series of development programmes including the inauguration of the district collectorate complex.

Later addressing a public meeting, he told the public that the Congress leaders say they would scrap the Dharani portal and bring back the old days when people were duped. The manual entry of land records involved middlemen, brokers, corruption, inordinate delay in securing pattadar passbooks and whatnot. The farmers are made to go around the revenue office umpteen times. Now with the land rates on the rise in the newly formed Telangana state, one could imagine what would be the fate of innocent farmers. They would be utter chaos, murders, police and court cases. “Now again certain political parties want the old days to come only to suck the blood of the poor farmers and grab the land by hook or crook,” Mr KCR pointed out.

The CM said he worked day and night for three years and finalised the Dharani portal. Except for the land owner, even the chief minister cannot change the land right. Only the farmers who want to sell their land have to give their thumb impression. The state government has created new mandals and set up more registration offices that are less than three kilometres from each village. The farmers could get their work done in a few minutes and secure their pattadar passbooks without giving bribes to anyone.

Mr KCR told the people that as the elections are nearing, leaders of various political parties approach them and hoodwink promising heaven on earth. “It is up to you to choose wisely. If you want the present welfare schemes to continue, strengthen the BRS party,” he added.
