CM KCR gets rousing welcome in Maharashtra

Telangana Chief Minister and BRS founder K Chandrashekhar Rao and his entourage got a rousing reception as they reached the Maharashtra state on a two-day visit on Monday. Mr Rao proceeded on tour by road in a bus while about 3,000 cars followed him. The huge convoy of vehicles stretched about two kilometres on the road.

People from nearby villages gathered on either side of the road showering flowers on the convoy carrying ministers, MLAs, MPs and other elected representatives. It was an impressive spectacle to witness. At Sholapur, scores of women accorded a traditional welcome to Mr KCR with “Mangala harathi” and offered Vermilion praying for his health and prosperity. After having lunch at Amorga, Mr KCR reached Sholapur by evening. He closeted with former MP Dharmanna Mundaiah Sadul at his residence and other important leaders who are joining the BRS party on Tuesday. He would also interact with the weavers of Telangana who settled in Sholapur for years.

Mr KCR will be offering special prayers at the ancient Sri Vittobha Rukmini temple at Pandharpur and while on his return journey in the evening, he would offer prayers at the famous Thulja Bhavani temple. The visit of Mr KCR and the public patronage he is getting raised the eyebrows of BJP and NCP leaders in Maharashtra who have been resenting the expansion of BRS party in the state.
