Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Minister KT Rama Rao, and other Ministers expressed deep shock and grief at the sudden demise of noted folk singer and TSWC Chairman Sai Chand. Sai Chand passed away after suffering heart attack on the wee hours of Thursday. CM said Sai Chand’s voice would continue to ring the ears and his songs will remain forever in the lives of the people of Telangana. He was instrumental in galvanising people during the Telangana movement.

Mr KT Rama Rao, lamenting the sudden loss, said Sai Chand had gone away too soon. He would be missed by one and all. CM KCR and Minister KTR expressed their condolences to the bereaved family and said they would stand by the family. Scores of BRS leaders condoled the death of Sai Chand and remembered his contribution during the statehood movement.

Sai Chand was a folk singer from his childhood and he rose to prominence through Telangana Dhoom Dhaams during the movement. Later, he played an active part in BRS Party’s public meetings, especially the ones attended by CM KCR, by enthusing the crowds with his songs on Telangana progress and schemes. In December 2021, CM KCR appointed Sai Chand as Telangana State Warehouse Corporation Limited Chairman.
