1 lakh admissions: Huge demand for Telangana govt. residential junior colleges

Standing as a testament to the quality and standards of the residential education being imparted in Telangana, residential junior colleges in the state are now most sought after. The admissions are nearing the one lakh mark in the 1000 Gurukul junior colleges in the state which is a significant increase compared to the last year.

The students from the Gurukul schools are preferring the Gurukul junior colleges due to the exceptional educational standards and the outstanding quality of food served in the hostels. The authorities are following a nutritious menu that includes milk, eggs, ghee, leafy vegetables, curd, and meat. The homely atmosphere created by the Telangana government in these colleges is generating a high demand for admissions.

The admissions in BC Gurukul junior colleges this year is 14,077 as against 8,677 in the last year. The number is 16,102 in SC gurukuls as against 15,395 in the last year and the admissions in Minority gurukuls increased by 1,749 when compared to the previous academic year. Similar is the case in Tribal gurukuls, KGBVs, and TSRJCs.

Owing to the high demand, the government has upgraded all the 1000 Gurukul schools into junior colleges and the admissions are expected to further rise by the end of the last date of admissions on September 16.
