With each passing day, the internal rumblings within the Telangana Congress are only getting louder. The latest controversy is the comments made by TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy during his US tour. A couple of statements made by Revanth Reddy have caused a stir in the party. While speaking to the NRIs in the US, Revanth said that three hours of electricity would be enough for Telangana farmers and 24 hours power is not needed. Also, the TPCC President declared that MLA Seethakka will be their Chief Minister candidate.
Reacting to the comments, MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy fired on Revanth saying that the latter is behaving oddly after going to the US. Venkat Reddy said that Congress is not Revanth’s own party and whatever he said doesn’t hold any value. The Bhongir MP maintained that he is the star campaigner of the party and senior to Revanth.
Terming the announcement of Seethakka as the CM face as a joke, Venkat Reddy said Congress will only make the decision on the CM candidate based on the opinion of MLAs after winning the elections. He questioned that if someone from the tribal community should be made the CM why shouldn’t it be Podem Veeraiah who is a three-time MLA?
Going by the latest developments, it looks like the Congress party will forever remain a divided house and Revanth Reddy is failing in keeping the flock together.
