Faulting the jealous remarks made by BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, Warangal East MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Wardhannapet MLA Aroori Ramesh asked him to stop politicising every issue. Mr Kishan Reddy who toured the flood-affected areas in erstwhile Warangal district and pointed a finger at the state government for the natural phenomenon.
The BRS leaders said Mr KTR personally toured the city several times and instructed the officials to demolish the structures on drains. He wanted stringent action to be taken against those encroaching on the drains. “Both CM KCR and Municipal minister KTR have a perfect understanding of the Warangal city and its needs,” Mr Vinay Bhaskar said. The state government has taken up revetment works on big drains and several other works are underway. They further said when CM KCR decided to give Rs. 10,000 per acre compensation to farmers, it was the Central government that put a restriction. It wanted just Rs 3,500 to be paid per acre to farmers which is far from enough and reality.
The BRS leaders said criticising the state government for natural calamity is no solution. It was not proper to gain political mileage out of distress. The BJP leaders should instead use their good offices with the Central government and bring more funds to tie over the situation. The BJP leaders need not doubt the commitment of CM KCR or minister KTR who are in regular touch with the local leaders and district officials guiding them and providing enough funds for immediate works, the MLAs said.
