Congress party senior leader and former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah called on CM KCR on Sunday at the Pragathi Bhavan. Mr Laxmaiah sulked at the affairs of the Congress party has tendered his resignation after his association with it for over four decades. He accused the state leadership of discrimination and humiliating the senior leaders. There was no democracy in the Congress but one-upmanship.
Following his resignation, BRS working president Mr KTR called on Mr Laxmaiah and invited him to join the party. He said CM KCR personally invited him to the party. On Sunday, Mr Laxmaiah met CM KCR. He is likely to join the BRS party at a public meeting to be held at Jangaon on Monday. The BRS party assured him of due recognition to him. His joining will add strength to the BRS in Jangaon district.
