Chief Minister KCR asked people why there was no drinking water in scores of tribal hamlets when the river Godavari was passing by their hamlets all through. Why there were no hospitals? There were times he said he read in newspapers about the tribal hamlets hit by seasonal diseases. “It was heart-rending to read that pregnant and sick are carried on cots. They are forced to cross the swollen rivulets to reach hospitals far away,” he said reminiscing about the earlier days.
Mr KCR said the tribals were never considered human by the successive governments. The Congress party that ruled for more than five decades never bothered about the welfare of tribals. It was only after the formation of Telangana state, that the BRS government focused on ending these years of neglect and distress among the tribals. “I know how you women struggled for a pot of water. That is why the Mission Bhagiratha was put in place. Now, there is happiness everywhere,” he said. In Bhadrachalam and surrounding areas, hundreds of high-level bridges were constructed across rivultes making the lives of tribals more convenient.
Be it water, current, roads, hospitals – now all the tribal hamlets are covered and they have access to basic needs. But more is being planned after these elections. The welfare measures – Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema, Dharani, Pensions and all others are introduced by this BRS government only to empower the poor and downtrodden – socially and economically.
Mr KCR pointed out that now as the election season arrived, those Congress leaders are coming out talking tall and big. They lack basic knowledge about the current, agriculture, needs of agency people. They go on talking and pledging to undo all the good done by BRS government. If they are to be continued, people should vote for Rega Kantha Rao in Pinapaka and T Venkat Rao in Bhadrachalam in a big way.
“I appeal to you not to get confused while voting. Think wisely and vote for the party that has done good to you,” he said addressing a public meeting at Burgampadu in the Pinapaka assembly constituency.
