The BJP stands exposed once again, Minister Mr KTR

The Municipal Administration & IT minister Mr K T Rama Rao reacted sharply to the decision to release 11 accused in a gang rape case in Gujarat state.

In his statement, Mr Rao pointed out that it was Mr Modi who gave lofty slogans such as supporting Naari Sakhti but he did otherwise in his state.

The minister shared a video of the accused exchanging sweets on the occasion of their release from prison. The state government in Gujarat decided to release all the 11 accused in Bilkis Bano case on the grounds of `good behaviour’.

The decision came in for sharp criticism from various sections across the country. The women groups, political parties and NGOs faulted the decision.

The Congress leader Pavan Khera asked Prime Minister Mr Modi if he had faith in what he said from the Red Fort on August 15 about the empowerment of women.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi said by releasing the accused in Bilkis Bano case, it is clear that what message the BJP is giving to the people of the country. He said the hollowness of slogans and promises of BJP were exposed.

The CPI (M) in a statement sought to know from Mr Modi if this was his `Naya Bharath’?.

The TMC leader Saketh Gokhale said only the BJP could do such things undermining the law and sentiments of the people of the country. “This is nothing but brazen display and misuse of power,” he opined.
