
Telangana has received yet another rare recognition by winning five ‘International Beautiful Buildings Green Apple Awards’. Telangana Secretariat, Yadadri temple, Durgam Cheruvu bridge, Mozzam-Jahi market, and Police Command Control Centre have won these awards. It is for the very first time that any building/structures from India are being awarded the prestigious Green Apple awards.
Mozzam-Jahi Market won the award in the heritage category – for the excellent restoration and reuse, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge has received the honour in the bridge category for the unique design, Dr. B.R Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat building has won the recognition in the aesthetically designed office/workspace building category, Telangana State Police Integrated Command Control Centre got the award in the unique office category and Yadagirigutta Temple in the excellent religious structures category. Previously, buildings like the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in London; National Museum of Qatar, and Jalan Mahkota in Kuantan, Malaysia have won this prestigious Award.
Chief Minister KCR has expressed his happiness on Telangana getting five awards in five different categories. The rare honour reaffirms the futuristic planning in building designs and architecture in Telangana. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on June 16, 2023 at London, UK. Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD Department will receive these awards on behalf of the Government of Telangana.
