Under the able and visionary leadership of Chief Minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana has become the care of address for sustainable agriculture.
With the initiatives such as Rythu Bandhu, and Rythu Beema, free irrigation and round-the-clock free uninterrupted quality power supply, farming was turned into a viable vocation, he said.
He was addressing the gathering at Jayashankar Agricultural University on Farmers Day where he said 58 per cent of the population in the state depended on agriculture. Telangana is the only state that spent Rs. 4.5 lakh crore on agriculture.
He observed that once the rulers dismissed agriculture as a vain vocation. But at the place now chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao proved it otherwise. Now those in IT field are evincing interest in taking up farming encouraged by the government’s initiatives.
