Telangana gurukul colleges fared well in intermediate results than private counterparts

The intermediate examination results stood as a testimony to the standards of the government gurukul colleges in Telangana. The pass percentage in gurukul junior colleges, social welfare colleges, BC welfare colleges, tribal welfare colleges and KGBVs has surpassed the pass percentage in private colleges.

While the gurukul junior colleges secured a pass percentage of 92%, social welfare colleges, BC welfare colleges, tribal welfare colleges and KGBVs have secured 89%, 87%, 84% and 77% respectively. Lagging behind the government residential colleges, the private colleges scored a pass percentage of 63%.

In 2022, the state government upgraded 1,155 residential schools into junior colleges besides setting up 328 SC, ST, BC and minority junior colleges. Overall, the pass percentage in the intermediate first year stood at 62.85% and the second year stood at 67.27%. Mulugu district grabbed the first place in the second year results and Medchal district took the first spot in the first year results.
