The Telangana government has disbursed Rs. 3,000 crore to the farmers against the paddy procurement on a single day. The state stands first in the country in paddy procurement and speedy disbursal of money to the farmers. The paddy procurement is coming to an end on Sunday, and by June 20, the payments will also be completed, according to Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.
This summer, the Telangana government has so far procured 64.52 lakh tonnes of paddy worth Rs. 13,264 crore. So far, the government paid Rs. 9,168 crore. The total extent of paddy cultivation was 56.84 lakh acres in the state. This was all made possible with Rythu Bandu, free round-the-clock power supply and irrigation water. Even in the scorching summer, Telangana farmers did extremely well cultivating paddy which is trend-setting. Minister Kamalakar besides thanking CM KCR for his initiatives also thanked the officials, millers and farmers for the successful procurement of paddy.
