Trying to gain the upper hand over the ruling BRS party, the Congress leaders in Telangana dug their own graves if the enragement among the farmers is any indication. TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said three hours of power supply is enough for farmers as against the 24-hour power supply being given by the BRS government. However best he is trying to justify his statement, the farmers are refusing to buy his arguments. They are furious at him.
The farmers opine that Revanth Reddy’s guru Chandrababu Naidu said farming is a waste vocation. Following his footsteps, he is saying just a three-hour power supply is enough for farmers. “If Congress comes to power, they may stop free power to farmers. How can we believe them?” this is what many farmers say doubting the intentions of the party. Seeking an apology from Revanth Reddy, the farmers are demanding that the Congress party spell out its stand on the power supply to the farming sector. “Why not the party spell out its promise of 24-hour free power supply in its farmers’ declaration?” the farmers are posing now.
The farmers are tensed up and fear that they may not get the free power supply they are now enjoying under the BRS regime. Both Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy proved themselves to be enemies of Telangana through their acts. Farmers in Telangana are telling each other not to support the Congress party as it is out playing dirty tricks with their lives once again. “We do not want those miserable days again in our lives,” they say in unison.
