TDP’s Motkupalli gun backfires

Chandra Babu Naidu’s strategy of using Motkupalli Narasimhulu to sabotage the Telangana movement seems to be backfiring bigtime.

While Motkupalli’s daily press conferences and repeated lies on the Telangana leadership have not had any effect whatsoever on the movement, his drama seems to have set a disastrous chain-effect in Telugu Desam Party.

Errabelli Dayakar Rao, the ambitious TDP leader who heads the Telangana TDP forum, was the first one to be unhappy with Motkupalli’s antics. Speaking to media, Errabelli has openly distanced himself from Motkupalli Narasimhulu ‘s uncharitable remarks on Telangana martyrs.

It is being said that Errabelli is also unhappy with the free hand that Chandra Babu has given to Narasimhulu. Errabelli feels that Narasimhulu’s latest smear campaign on Telangana movement may further damage TDP’s image in the Telangana region.

The differences between the two leaders were clearly exposed by the postponement of the prestigious “Pranahitha-Chevella Padayatra” that the party had announced only last week.

Meanwhile, the TDP Nalgonda district unit is also seething with anger over Motkupalli Narasimhulu’s unilateral statements. Bhuvanagiri MLA Uma Madhava Reddy and Kodad ex-MLA Venepalli Chandar Rao have already conveyed their displeasure to Chandra Babu Naidu.

Another senior leader and Ex-MLA from Tungathurti, Sankineni Venkateshwar Rao has raised an open rebellion against Motkupalli Narasimhulu. His followers from Aleru, Tirumalagiri, Tungathurthi mandals have resigned from the TDP party in big numbers. Sankineni is meeting Chandra Babu today to complain against Motkupalli Narasimhulu.

Aleru TDP leaders, who have resigned from the party said that they are resigning from the party because Narasimhulu is targeting certain forward castes.

Among the prominent leaders who resigned from TDP are State Telugu Yuvatha vice-president Ch Rajagopal Reddy, TDP district secretary Gangamalla Vinod Rao, state ST cell publicity secretary Bhukya Yakub Nayak and dozens of MPTCs, ZPTCs and Sarpanchs from Nalgonda dsitrict
