TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu remanded for judicial custody till Sep 22

Former Chief Minister and TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu was arrested and remanded to judicial custody by the ACB court till September 22. He was lodged in Rajahmundry Central Prison. Mr Naidu was accused of embezzling crores of funds meant for the Skill Development wing of the state government.

The ACB court refused the buy the arguments of counsel of Mr Naidu made on the count of his stature, age and health. The CID could prove his involvement in the case and ACB court remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody. In a turn of events, the episode expanded for over 24 hours of time beginning from the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The Court verdict came late on Sunday and in the wee hours, Mr Naidu was lodged at the Central Prison. While the CID officials are moving the Court for police custody of Mr Naidu, the counsels for the accused are moving the High Court for his bail on Monday. The TDP leaders called it political vendetta while the ruling YRSCP leaders contended that it was a clear case proving the involvement of Mr Naidu and his son Mr Nara Lokesh.

Vexed with the attitude of Mr Naidu on Telangana, CM KCR expressed his anguish several times at Mr Naidu. He said the injustices and conspiracies of Mr Naidu would haunt him to the end, he opined at one juncture.
