Sops to farmers and unemployed youth in TRS Draft Manifesto

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao chaired a manifesto committee meeting at Telangana Bhavan today. Addressing the media conference after the meeting, he made a partial announcement of the manifesto.

In his initial remarks, Mr. Rao stated that the party has worked with a lot of responsibility while drafting the manifesto and it was not just for politics or votes. “We take things seriously and go ahead with proper planning,” he said.

In the partial manifesto announced today, farmers and unemployed youth were given special importance.

The ongoing Rythu Bandhu Scheme which provided financial assistance of Rs. 8000 per acre per year to support the farmers has been increased to Rs 10, 000 per acre per year. Before making the announcement, Mr. Rao said “Rythu Bandhu scheme is being appreciated across the world. The farmer should be made the king in Telangana and we will work hard for their welfare until they become self-reliant.”

CM K Chandrashekar Rao also announced unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016 for the unemployed youth in the state. A proper committee will be formed after the elections to decide the eligible persons for the allowance, Mr. Rao stated.

As per the proposed manifesto, Asara pension will be increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 2016. For physically challenged people, the pension has been increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 3016.

The manifesto also includes setting up of special corporations for Reddy and Arya Vaishya communities in the state. Mr. Rao mentioned that the manifesto committee has been receiving requisitions from various organizations, which are being taken into consideration on forming a special assistance to SC/ST communities in the state.
