The Central government team of officials – National Dam Safety Authority headed by its chairman Anil Jain inspected the Medigadda barrage. Later they held a meeting with the Telangana irrigation department engineers and L&T engineers. They got all the details of soil, structure and place among others.
The Dam safety officials reportedly opined that minor technical issues are common in big projects like Kaleshwaram. The issue of the Medigadda barrage – sinking of the 20th pier is a small issue that could be corrected. The engineers drained the barrage for now. After the soil gets dried up, they would take up the restoration works at the foot of the pier.
The central team said the barrage sunk only at one side and hence it is not a big problem
