Siddipet – Kachiguda rail service to start from today

The decades-long dream of the people of Siddipet is being fulfilled today. The Siddipet – Kachiguda rail is being launched today by Minister T Harish Rao. With the initiative of Chief Minister Mr KCR, the dream has come true at last.

The state government and central government took up the works on the Manoharabad to Kothapalli railway line which is underway. The rail works up to Gajwel were complete and operations began. Now works up to Siddipet are complete and operations are being launched today. It was during the UPA regime, when Mr KCR was a union minister in the cabinet, he on behalf of the state government agreed to bear the expenditure of land acquisition and bear one-third of funds for the new railway line and also losses sustained for the next five years.

A new railway line connecting Manoharabad to Gajwel, Siddipet, Sircilla, Vemulawada to Kothapalli in Karimanagar to a stretch of 151 kilometres was sanctioned. After assuming charge as Chief Minister of Telangana in 2014, Mr KCR focussed more on this project and expedited the land acquisition. A total of 15 railway stations will be built on this line. It would help immensely the people particularly the traders and businessmen on the route.
