In a classic case of Nero fiddling while Rome burns, CM Revanth Reddy is engaged in foreign trips purportedly to attract investments, while governance has come to a standstill in Telangana. Typically, IT & Industries minister along with senior officials from the concerned departments undertake investment trips. In contrast, Revanth recently embarked on trips to Davos, the USA, and South Korea.
Though Revanth claims to have attracted investments and tries to present his junkets as business trips, his performance pales in comparison to that of former minister KTR. Additionally, Revanth joining minister Sridhar Babu on foreign trips is seen as an attempt to sideline the minister. Moreover, the investment announcements made by the Congress government are actually investments that were being finalized during the BRS tenure.
Meanwhile, the state’s law and order situation has deteriorated, with a rise in indiscriminate murders, gang rapes, and police atrocities. Farmers are also struggling due to the non-implementation of Rythu Bharosa and improper implementation of the crop loan waiver.
Furthermore, Revanth, who also serves as the education minister, is failing to address serious issues like food poisoning incidents in government hostels. He is also neglecting the demands of unemployed youth who are protesting for their rights.
Instead of addressing these pressing issues, Revanth appears to be focusing on foreign trips to claim credit for investments actually attracted during the previous government.
