Retirement age of Anganwadi teachers and helpers enhanced to 65 years

Bringing cheers to thousands of Anganwadi workers, the state government has issued orders upgrading 2,989 mini Anganwadi centres. The government has fulfilled all their demands. It was decided to provide Rs. 2 lakh worth of insurance to those below 50 years and those above will be given an exgratia of Rs. 2 lakh. The retirement age was enhanced to 65 years and at the time of retirement the teachers will get Rs. 1 lakh while helpers will get Rs 50,000.

The Telangana government has already been giving Rs. 13,650 to Anganwadi teachers per month and Rs. 7,800 to helpers. They were also given 30 PRC on par with the government employees. There are about 71,000 anganwadi employees in the state. CM KCR was kind enough to address their grievances pending for decades.

There was a time when the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu unleashed the horse-mounted police force against the agitating Anganwadi workers in the then Andhra Pradesh state. It is a different story now. Thousands of Anganwadi workers are a happy lot under the BRS regime with ever demand of theirs addressed empathetically by the CM KCR.
