A retired IPS officer Vitthal Jadav and noted danseuse Surekha Punekar and several social activists joined the BRS party on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Mr Rao welcomed them into the party garlanding them with pink scarf. Speaking on the occasion, BRS founder and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the birthplace of rivers Krishna and Godavari, the Maharashtra state is endowed with rich and abundant natural resources. The condition of the people is pathetic as the rulers failed to live up to the expectations of the people despite possessing natural resources.
Mr Rao said it was not correct to expect anything from political parties that are not committed to the welfare of people and in particular farmers. Hence the BRS came up with the slogan ‘Abki bar kisan sarkar’. “We did miracles in Telangana within nine years – free power and irrigation to farmers, input subsidy and every other help are extended. It is quite possible to do anywhere in the country,” he pointed out. He said farmers account for 42 per cent of the population and they can decide their fate by choosing the right party. The massive influx of leaders and the general public in Maharashtra into BRS party indicate a great victory for the party in the ensuing local body and assembly elections.
