Part-time gurukul teachers urge Congress govt. to release pending salaries

Part-time teachers at Telangana Social Welfare Gurukul Schools are pleading with the state government to release their pending salaries, which have been overdue for four months. In a statement issued on Wednesday, they urged CM Revanth Reddy and officials to take swift action and address the arrears.

The teachers pointed out that, for the past decade, the previous BRS government ensured that salaries were paid by the 10th of every month. However, they accuse the current Congress-led government of failing to deliver on its promises, leaving them in financial distress.

In addition to the unpaid salaries, the teachers highlighted that students’ mess and cosmetic charges, as well as payments to contractors, have also been delayed. This has resulted in contractors withholding essential supplies such as vegetables, eggs, and other food provisions, which could potentially force the school to close and cause significant hardship to the students.
