The Multi Dimension Poverty rate which was 13.18% in 2015- 16 is down to 5.88% in Telangana state, according to Niti Aayog. The Niti Aayog released the multi-dimensional poverty index Chapter-2 on Monday. It took into consideration various parameters such as the property of people, bank deposits, access to education and health services, enrolment and attendance in schools, consumption of cooking gas, and power supply among others. The Niti Aayog conducted the study in 28 states and eight union territories.
Expressing happiness at the development, Minister KT Rama Rao shared his joy with citizens over the Twitter platform. A comparison of poverty percentages in the districts of Telangana state shows the Ranga Reddy district with the lowest poverty per cent at 3.83 while the Adilabad district has the highest poverty per cent at 14.24 during the period 2019-2021. The newly formed Telangana state surpassed all other states and zoomed past in the development of all sectors, thanks to the visionary and firm leadership of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao.
