Minister KTR to inaugurate 23 km solar roof top cycle track soon

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has decided to take up the management of the solar roof top cycle track built along the outer ring road in a prestigious manner. IT Minister KT Rama Rao will soon inaugurate the 23 km long cycle track built in the IT corridor along the ORR.

By handing over the maintenance and management of the cycle track built to international standards at a cost of Rs.100 crore to a private company, it will be available in a better way. For this, tenders have been called to undertake operation and maintenance of ORR cycle track at a cost of Rs. 9.24 crore.

A two-way cycle track has been constructed from Nanakramguda to Telangana Police Academy covering a stretch of 8.50 km and from Narsingi to Kollur covering a stretch of for 14.5 km. It has been decided to generate about 16 megawatts of electricity with the solar roof top being constructed on this cycle track. As part of the maintenance, the selected contractor will have to carry out the work with the sweeping machines every day.

Officials said that the contracting company will have to carry out maintenance activities for a whole year as suggested by HMDA for the maintenance of the 23 km cycle track. Drainage chambers should be kept clean along the cycle track without potholes and cracks.
