
With the initiation of IT Minister KT Rama Rao, a young man who was languishing in jail for 17 years in a murder case in Dubai set to be freed finally. Dandungula Narsaiah and Lasmavva couple of Konaraopet of Rajanna Sircilla district has a son Laxman who went to Dubai for employment in 2004 when he was 36 years old. He is serving sentence in jail in a Nepali security guard murder case.
Along with him, Sivaratri Ravi, SivaratriMallesh, Gollem Nampalli and Sivaratri Hanuman of Peddur in Sircilla mandal areserving the sentence. After consultation with the victim’s family, Minister KTR tried to reach a compromise by giving cash compensation, but the Dubai government continued the punishment. Minister KTR, who recently went to Dubai, held discussions with the Dubai government. Discussions were held with the officials of the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the Dubai officials for amnesty.
The court approved Laxman’s release on the request of the lawyer as Laxman is suffering from illness. Efforts are being made to free the remaining four. Lasmavva said she is very happy that person who left home 17 years ago is coming home. “I thought my son would remain in Dubai forever. I thank KTR sir for bringing back my son home by paying money. KTR is a god for my family” she said.
