In a scathing attack on CM Revanth Reddy, BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) held the municipal department headed by CM Revanth Reddy responsible for the recent Sunkishala accident. Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, KTR criticized the government for its mishandling of the incident, which took place on August 2nd during the assembly session.
KTR questioned why the government kept the incident under wraps for a week, stating, “If the government is not at fault, why was this issue hidden for a week? The assembly was in session when the accident occurred, yet it was not mentioned.” He alleged that the accident was a result of hastily started work without proper consultation with officials, leading to the installation of faulty gates. KTR emphasized that if the incident had occurred during working hours, it could have resulted in significant loss of life.
“When good things happen, they take the credit, but when something goes wrong, they blame others,” KTR remarked, accusing the current administration of escaping responsibility and engaging in false propaganda against the previous BRS government.
Drawing parallels with the Kaleshwaram project, KTR defended the BRS government’s achievements, noting that despite severe flooding, the project remained intact, debunking opposition claims. He further criticized the Congress government for failing to acknowledge KCR’s successful water management initiatives.
KTR called for a judicial inquiry into the Sunkishala incident and demanded action against contracting aagency which is responsible. KTR demanded the government to block list the company. He expressed concern over the government’s decision to halt ongoing work in the Municipal Department, including critical projects like the Sunkishala.
Concluding his remarks, KTR warned that the public is aware of the government’s incompetence and urged the Chief Minister to take accountability for the situation. “If Revanth Reddy was unaware of this issue, how much control does he have over governance as the Chief Minister?” KTR questioned. The BRS leader also announced plans to visit the Sunkishala incident site.
